Arduino Selection

We are looking into the feasibility of migrating our environmental field devices to an Arduino.

Equipment required to be connected:

6x off ANA IP (0-10V)
2x off ANA IP (4-20mA)
2x off DIG IP (24Vdc)
2x off DIG OP Relay (24Vdc)

At the moment we are running these signals via a field mounted Allen Bradley Flex IO to a CompactLogix 5069-L330ER.

Although we can remote into the PLC via the WAP, the shortcomings are that we do not have saved data or trends readily available in e.g. the cloud or a database. That’s where I hope the Arduino might be able to help us out.

The plan is to use the data we capture to streamline our monitoring process by trending failure rates and operating conditions etc. etc.

If the Arduino is a long-term solution, the idea would be to migrate all the other signals in future.

Suspect the OPTA WiFi might be a good fit.

Please advise on which of the models might be suitable if any.

That OPTA Wifi could work.

The below is the expansion item when you are going to add more signals later.

Hello @nantes.vanwyk,

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

Yes, the Arduino Opta is a good candidate for your application. Let me add a few thoughts:

Best wishes,
