At A Loss: Control Boards for Multiple Actuators?

Hello,

Recently I have been in contact with Sales Support from DigiKey about some products, however, they weren’t able to assist me further and referred me to posting on this forum. I hope that someone here would be able to help me with my query, thanks :).

(Short background)
I am wanting to control multiple Piezo actuators. Separate to that, I want to control multiple Voice Coil Actuators (VCA). The programs aren’t going to be fancy, I just want to create some vibration patterns.

I found a few starter kits (e.g., BOS1901-KIT-A for Piezo and DK-LAS16-23-000A-P01-4E for VCA) that have control boards, but with these you can only connect and control 1 or 2 actuators. I am looking to control at least 6-8 actuators piezo and 6-8 VCA.

Therefore I am looking to invest in two control boards that have the option to actuate multiple actuators each. Would you be able to advise me upon this?

In short:

  • Do you sell Control Boards for Piezo actuators (similar to the BOS1901) that allow for the control of more than 2 piezo actuators (for example, 6 or 8)?

  • Do you sell Control Boards for Voice Coil Actuators (similar to DK-LAS16-23-000A-P01-4E) that allow for the control of more than 2 voice coil actuators (for example, 6 or 8)?

Thank you for your inquiry.

I was not able to locate any eval boards that can support 6-8 piezo actuators or the VCAs. You would have to use multiples of a board or use the dedicated IC’s to make your own board to get the desired function you are looking for. Additionally there are some breakout boards that you might be able to use to get the desired function with multiples of them. Those options are in the following link:
