Beaglebone GPIO state on shutdown

I am working with a BeagleBone Green. I’ve found after a software initiated shutdown of the OS with power still supplied to the board, the GPIO pins are are enabled. I have them connected to a relay board which causes all the relays to be energized, which is the opposite of what I would want. Does anyone know how to configure the BeagleBone so the GPIO pins are disabled on OS shutdown?

Thanks,
/John

Sorry, you’ll have to use external circuitry to achieve this. (buffer…)
