Hello, I would like to inquire about USB-C, ethernet, and HDMI connectors that are > IP33 rated. These can be either panel mounted or PCB mounted. The thing here is that I want these to be ingress rated without needing a cap or needing to be plugged in. Please let me know what your options are.
Normally stocked USB-C and HDMI connectors can be found here, while ethernet (e.g. 8p8c modular jacks) can be found here. Use the “Ingress Protection” column to select items thusly rated.
Note however, that these ratings typically refer to protection afforded to an enclosure in which the connector is mounted rather than the connector interface itself. Protecting a thing with a hole in it against ingress of foreign bodies/substances is rather difficult without plugging or covering the hole somehow…
I checked our USB-C connectors that indicate they’re ingress protected and everything I could find qualified that the protection is between the panel and the inside of the case, and doesn’t count the connector port. I’m not seeing much if anything that doesn’t require a mated connector seal or protective cap.
