Cable Ties and Cable Lacing are a strip of fabric, metal, or plastic that is used to bundle or secure items together. The two ends of the strip are connected using a variety of fastening techniques. The bundle diameters vary from 0.10” (2.49 mm) to 44.00” (1117.60 mm) and have tensile strengths ranging from 8 lbs. (3.62 kg) to 1200 lbs. (544.32 kg).
SelectionCharacteristics
Wire/Cable Tie Type: Describes the physical form, distinguishing features, or intended purpose of a tie.
Length - Approximate: Indicates the nominal, manufacturer-advertised length of the cable tie.
Bundle Diameter: The maximum cross-sectional diameter of a circular object that can be secured.
Width: The width of the part; the greater of its two cross-sectional dimensions.
Length - Actual: The precise length of the specific tie, different from the manufacturer advertised generic length.
Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.
Tensile Strength: The maximum pulling force or stress that can be applied to a product or material before failure occurs, under manufacturer-defined test conditions.
Features: These are different capabilities or properties of the device such as Abrasion Resistant, Halogen Free, or Low Profile.
Material: Indicates the material composition of the device.
Color: The dominant color of the device.
Shelf Life: For devices that include expirable materials such as adhesive, indicates the shelf life of the device.
Shelf Life Start: For devices that have a shelf life, indicates when that shelf life begins. Usually, but not always, specified as Date of Manufacture.
Storage/Refrigeration Temperature: For devices with specific storage requirements, indicates the temperatures at which the manufacturer recommends the device be stored prior to use.
