Greetings,
I saw the RP-VC1GN Camera on the DigiKey website, part number 4764-RP-VC1GN-ND. I wanted to know what the latency from the sensor to the video output on this camera is. Any information, even estimates, would be helpful.

Hello jm4054183,
Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.
I wasn’t able to see the information on latency of RP-VC1GN (4764-RP-VC1GN-ND). Seems it is not readily shared on the data sheet nor other documentation. I’m asking the manufacturer to see if they have something on it and I’ll reply here with feedback once I have a response from them.
Regards,
Hi jm4054183,
According the info here, the camera uses the Sony IMX219PQ CMOS image sensor, so searching for info on that sensor can give you an idea.
Though latency and frame rate do not have an exact correlation, depending on the resolution selected, the frame rate can range from 30 fps at full resolution to 180 fps at 720p, from what I have found with a quick search.
In addition, here is what the supplier provided in regard to this inquiry.
“This product is based on the Raspberry Pi Camera Module V2, so all fundamental performance characteristics are the same as those of the Raspberry Pi V2.”
They did not give specific latency info.
