A common question that is asked is if the use of ESD mat cleaners will reduce the life of your ESD mat.
Actually the use of a cleaner specifically designed for your mat such as ACL Staticide part number 6001, also known as Digi-Key part number ST1004-ND or Desco part number 10435, also known as Digi-Key Part Number 16-1054-ND, will restore the ESD dissipative nature of the mat and in doing so will make them last longer. It is not recommended to use any cleaners with silicone as a silicone buildup will create and insulative film on the surface of your mat.
