These products are things you can place in your work area to protect against ESD.
Digi-key Monitors, Testers, Static Control Device Containers, and Static Control Grounding Mats.
Table mats – Table mats allow you to have a safe work area on top of tables, tool carts, and workbenches, for your ESD sensitive components. These may be a stand-alone mat or may have a ground snap connection which you can connect straight to ground or use a ground monitor to ensure it has good continuity to ground. You should at least have a mat on the surface even if the components are not considered ESD sensitive.
Worksurface mats can be grounded and dissipative and should be installed on each table where unprotected ESD susceptible parts may be handled or stored. These surfaces provide a low charge-generating surface to work on and also drains charge to ground from conductive materials placed on the surface.

The test method Digi-key uses for work surfaces measures the resistance from 2.5-inch diameter, 5-pound electrode (per ESD TR-53) placed on the surface to the termination point of the work surface ground cord where it is attached to the common point bonding point.
If a failure is observed, check the ground cord for attachment and the electrical continuity by a separate measurement. If the ground cord tests good, clean the mat surface with a water-based cleaner. Replace the mat assembly if the resistance to ground test fails again.
Floor mats – Floor mats work with heel straps or ESD shoes to create a path-to-ground and can also help with comfort. Floor mats should be placed on the floor in front of each workstation where unprotected ESD susceptible parts may be handled. The test method for floor mats are the same for table mats; measures the resistance from 2.5-inch diameter, 5-pound electrode (ESD TR-53) placed on the floor mat surface to the termination point of the floor mat ground cord where it attaches to the common point bonding point. Replace the mat if the resistance to ground test fails again.
ESD monitor and tester – These are the grounding monitors and testers we have mentioned, use with the table and floor mats. This category is where you will find the heel strap testers, workstation monitor, wrist strap monitor, and some other random monitor/tester items that will help keep your area ESD safe.
ESD device storage containers – These containers allow you to store your components or devices in an ESD safe container while maintaining organization. Digi-key does provide component storage containers but these are meant for non-ESD sensitive parts and should not house the sensitive parts unless it specifically states it is ESD safe. It is best to keep the sensitive components either in the ESD shielding bag they were delivered in, the ESD storage containers, or both if you want to be extra careful. This category has the workstation organizers, toolboxes and reel holders.
