During the filament changes with the Creality Hi and the CFS, there can be instances that the filament breaks in the printer head and causes a jam. As the printer is a direct drive, this means that the extruder and hot end will need to be disassembled to clear the jam.
Our jammed printer head issue was realized after the filament pushed the PTFE tube out of the back of the CFS and was piling up. The CFS did stop feeding the filament but it took a couple meters before it did.
Below is Creality’s video on tearing down the printer head to clear the jam.
A note on the teardown video from Creality is that all of the connectors on the control board have glue holding them in place. As can be seen in the image below. Use the included side cutter to cut the glue holding the connecters so that the they can be unplugged.
With the extruder jammed cleared, the printer head can be reassembled and printing can resume.
