I received several of these parts today from a tech asking me to verify if they are onsemi 74VHC164MTCX. Looking at the surface markings, they appear to show “YAXJG V164”.
This doesn’t really seem to match what the datasheet for the 74VHC164MTCX shows.
Just wondering if anybody can provide some insight on if this part is actually the 74VHC164MTCX.

The datasheet for 74VHC164MTCX, says the marking should be VHC 164. So unless the part went through a part marking change, I would say that is not the part.
Sorry for the delay in the reply. That was pretty much what I was thinking, as well.
I still have not managed to figure out what the actual part is, so if anybody has any idea I would be greatly appreciative! Thanks in advance!
