When selecting a potentiometer for a design, a specification which is often important to consider is its rotational life rating. The CTS 450 Series, 450T328F103A1C1 for example, has three different rotational life levels, one being the standard and two others which are considered “special”. These levels are not differentiated in the part number.
The rotational life of these potentiometers is deciphered by it’s correlation to their resistance tolerance. There are also three levels of resistance tolerances of the same title. If the standard +/- 30% tolerance potentiometer is selected the standard ten thousand rotational cycles would apply and this would be the same with the two special levels as well.
