I am looking for the 120W Quad-Port USB Type-C PD3.1 eval board based on the AP43776 chip. DigiKey has item AP43776Q-EVB, which lists 2-channel as primary attribute, yet lists the 120W Quad-port manual under manuals. the diodes inc. website is no help here on what Eval boards are out there. any idea whether this eval board is actually the Quad USB C version?
Hi gijpma,
Welcome to the Tech Forum.
The AP43776Q-EVB is a 120W Quad-Port USB Type-C PD3.1 PPS evaluation board. It accomplishes this by using two AP43776Q chips on the board. See page 4 of the User’s Guide that you reference above.
Specifically, Figure 6 shows the AP43776Q controlling Ports A and B, and Figure 7 shows another AP43776Q controlling Ports C and D.
From page 4 of the User’s Guide:
I see that we incorrectly describe this eval board as a 2-Channel (Dual) type on our website’s product detail page rather than 4-Channel (Quad) type (presumably because each AP43776Q chip handles 2 channels each). I will have that corrected.
Thank you for your response, we’ll order them right away!
