DTB4848VR wiring for Output 2

For DTB4848VR, I know that the V and the R refer to control output 1 and control output 2 respectively. And from the wiring diagram I can understand how to wire to pins 1 and 2 for output 1. But quite frankly, I am confused with the notation as to how to access or utilize output 2. I need external SSR (V) for one product application and relay for another, but it seems silly to buy a DTB4848VR and a DTB4848RR to work with only output 1 when DTB4848VR has two control outputs and I can buy more DTB4848VR in bulk. Assistance would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Hi vikstrom,

Welcome to the TechForum.

I am not clear as to what you are asking. Are you asking how to connect to the relay contacts of output 2?

If so, the relay contacts are pins 7 (NO) and 8 (COM). In the nominal state, the relay arm between those two contacts is open. When in the activated state, the relay arm closes and shorts pins 7 and 8 together.

Typically, one would connect pin 7 (NO) to the supply voltage for the load you wish to power and you would connect pin 8 (COM) to the load you intend to turn on and off. Then, the other side of that load would be connected to Neutral or GND, depending on whether one is passing AC or DC to the load.

Understood! Thank you very much.
