Hello All,
I’m building a low ESR power supply to power a Digital to Analog chip board. My question is: would you use Eaton or Tecate ultra capacitors?
The part numbers are Eaton - XL60-3R0308T-R,
and Tecate - TPLH-3R0/3000SL60138.
The Eatons are somewhat more expensive than the Tecate ultra capacitors. The physical casings seem to be identical.
Any preference?
Thanks.
Hello @moodyhh,
Yes, the products are very similar in performance right down to anticipated life of 1 M cycles from rated to half rated voltage.
Since the capacitors are very similar, you may want to consider other “soft” considerations:
- cost
- availability today
- long term availability
- manufacturability with your product
Sincerely,
Aaron
P.S. Out of curiosity, why such a large capacitor for an ADC board?
