General FAQs

• Why do some functions fail after the CM4 Industrial was installed an official system?

We suggest the customers install the system image which provided by us. Otherwise, download our BSP to make some external interfaces work.

• Whether CM4 Nano can boot in micro-SD card?

No, micro-SD card only acts as data storage. Operation system shall be installed in eMMC.

• Do any signals of 40PIN on CM4 Nano have been occupied?

Buzzer has occupied GPIO6. If you don’t need to use it, you can remove the resistor R39 to disconnect GPIO6 from the buzzer circuit. SD card occupies GPIO22,23,24,25,26,27.If you don’t use it, please don’t insert the SD card.

• How can I access to EDATEC image file?

• How to solve the error saying “config failed, hub doesn’t have any ports! (err -19)” during turning on CM4 Nano?

To delete the “otg_mode=1” in config.txt, [cm4], and then add “dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host” at the same time.

• What image was preinstalled for CM4 Industrial?

Normally we pre-install 32-bit BSP system for CM4 sensing before delivery.

To delete the “otg_mode=1” in config.txt, [cm4], and then add “dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host” at the same time.

• How to install CM4 Sensing?

There are 4 screw-holes (M2.5) on the bottom casing of the device. Fix the CM4Sensing into necessary device with these holes. Besides, CM4Sensing support DIN rail mounting.

*How to update the system image?

Use the Micro USB2.0 port at the internal circuit board to update system image of CM4 sensing.

• What does different LED color mean?

Red indicates for power supply and green indicates for system status.

• Which types are Power Adapter supporting?

12V 2A power adapter with EU, US, AU and UK plugs available.

• Could I add a daughter card through a 40pin connector, can this computer support such expansion?

It will depend on the size of the daughter card and whether you need additional holes on the metal case for the connectors on your daughter card, if the metal case doesn’t fit, we can offer the custom design services based on your requirement. The MOQ is 100pcs/batch.

Custom Design

• What is the MOQ for custom design?

The MOQ of hardware optimization is 500pcs, since we don’t need to redesign the board, 500pcs is an economic quantity for manufacturing, if the quantity is less, the cost per unit will be higher. There are no MOQ for pure software development, the software development is only based on our own hardware products. The MOQ of complete custom design is 5Kpcs.

• How do you charge the custom design services?

We only charge the tooling cost for hardware optimization. We will charge the development cost for software development and complete design. Please contact DigiKey for a quotation via DigiKey Special Order Product Request Form.

Delivery

• How do you ship the products to the end customers?

DigiKey has many ship methods, and this will simplify the ordering process.

• What level of technical support you could offer?
