Does the ESP32-DEVKITC-VIE come set up for me to just plug an external antenna into the antenna connector on the board? i saw a page about needing to move resistor 7 to resistor 6 position.

Based on the orientation of the resistor and how Espressif have done other VIE version boards the U.FL type antenna connector for an external antenna is connected by default.
Moving the resistor 90 degrees from it’s current orientation would be if you want to connect the included onboard trace antenna.
