Fairchild Pb free and RoHS

Will Fairchild parts with tin/lead solder still be available after the transition to Pb-free? If so, for how long?

Fairchild started the conversion to a Pb-free finish in 2001 and has continued to provide SnPb plated products since that time. Providing SnPb plated products has become increasingly difficult as many of our manufacturing facilities and partners no longer have the ability to provide SnPb plating. Most of the remaining facilities will eliminate SnPb plating in the very near future. As a result, Fairchild issued a notice to customers on January 8, 2007 that except in the case of contractual agreements, the ability to order SnPb products will be phased out over the next six months. By mid-July 2007 customers will no longer be able to order SnPb products
