Hello,
Someone connected a portable charger to my mixer, and smoke came out of it. Now, it powers on, and everything lights up, but there’s no sound. From what I can see, only the U26 component was damaged. How can I find a suitable replacement with 5 pins? I understand that there are many types of such chips. The mixer has a DC input of 5V 1A.
Hi Davido
Welcome to the TechForum.
Based on the inductor (L4) sitting next to it, it’s most likely a switching voltage regulator. Unfortunately, with the markings blasted off, there’s no way to ID it from observation. We would need at least a schematic, if not a parts list, to try to find it.
Hi @Davido ,
As @David_1528 suggested, this is a boost converter. It is configured to produce positive and negative voltages for the analog circuitry. Albeit the slight cosmetic damage that the chip has apparently suffered, a letter “S” is visible. One match for that is LT1930.
See page 8 on the datasheet for a dual output configuration (has an additional cap (C4) for output disconnection). The feedback resistor ratio (R151/R157) would yield ±8V output voltage.
Cheers, heke
