Help identifying part

I have a radio that took a surge. It blew the component off of the board but no board damage. I would like to identify what this component is so I can replace it. The component is on the + DC voltage side right after the fuse. I tested a good radio and it tests similar to a diode but I cannot find a similar part from pictures. Can anyone identify what this is? It is the small white chip which looks like it has ABO on it.

Hello @telliott

Welcome to the TechForum

I had done a search using both ABO and AB0 part markings, but I was not able to find any parts that match your description and have the same pinout as you PCB. If you have any more information about the part of the radio’s circuit, we may be able to find a replacement part.

telliott,
This is not a diode.
This is a capacitor.
It looks very similar to SMD metallized film capacitor PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide).

I believe this is actually DV1 and the pads above it are for a cap.

@telliott

I am sorry to say that I too an not able to verify what that item would be.
It may be a diode or similar.
As there are a few more DV items on your board (DV18 , DV17) in packages that are similar to some transistors.
However, without knowing the electrical specification of the DV1 we would not be able to provide an option.

Now that I’ve seen the full photo, I also confirm that it’s a diode.
VD1- it defently means diode.

Hi @telliott ,

I wonder, did you get the diode readings from a component that is seated to the board or after removing it?
This thing could also be a gas discharge tube.
