We are looking for one type of 14-pin Photomultiplier Tube Socket but we don’t know how to search on Digikey by category and we don‘t know the brank or PN.Please kindly help us.
Hello @frankenok,
Request you identify the manufacturer and type of the photomultiplier tube used in the application.
I am uncertain if DigiKey sells the socket, but we may be able to help you locate a replacement.
For reference, here is a link to the hamamatsu line of a photomultiplier tubes.
Best wishes,
APDahlen
Hi APDah1en,
Thank you very much!
We actually need the 14 pin PMT tube socket not the photomultiplier tube. The link of manufacturer has already visited before and we can’t find such socket. That’s why we ask the question on the DigiKey for help.
Thanks and regards
Frank
Yes, I understand, Frank.
You are looking for the socket.
However, if we knew the tube type, we may have better luck finding the socket. Hopefully we can determine the socket dimensions from the tube date.
Sincerely,
Aaron
Hi Aaron,
Thank your for your kindly help!
The type of photomulitplier tube (PMT) should be ET 9306KFLB.
The diameter of the socket is about 56mm. It fits dimension as below pic of tube.
sincerely
Frank
Sorry Frank,
I’m not able to provide any assistance. From what I can tell, this is a highly specialized socket from a non-DigiKey associated manufacturer.
If we could back up 50 years, I would recommend looking for a substitution via a CRT picture tube from an old television. Today, these are a rare as hen’s teeth, although you may find something in one of the online auctions.
The best I can do is point you to the OEM sales. You will need to ask for a new B14A socket:
- Texas: Sales Contact Form - ADIT Electron Tubes
- United Kingdom: Sales Contact Form - ET-Enterprises Ltd
Sincerely,
Aaron
Hi Aaron,
Thank you! It is very helpful to have the OEM sales information.
Best regards
Frank
