Help me with the IC’S to be Considered and how to design one

Hello,
Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum. Can you provide more details on the input voltage you will be using, what do you need for output voltage and current. You may also want to look at this link for design basics.

Hello Sir

I need a power supply that can output approximately 18 to 20 watts. The input voltage should be 230 volts AC.

Watts = Volts times Amps.

Specifying watts alone will never get you a power supply.

What output voltage or current do you need?

The output voltage needs to range
from 15V DC with a power rating of
20W, which corresponds to a current
of 1.33A. This output voltage must be
electrically isolated from a universal
supply input ranging from 80 to 275
VAC.

Hello, @4nm19ec091! If the component you need is a power supply, based on the specs you provided I think our best options are going to be 945-3238-ND from Recom Power or 1470-MCE20US15-P-ND from XP Power.

Actually designing a switch mode supply with up to 275 VAC input from scratch is not something I’ve ever done. If I had to tackle this project I’d start by checking out TI’s online design tool and study all their recommended literature.
(I have used the DC/DC version of the tool and it works great)

I searched for PCB mount modules on DigiKey but none can do 80 to 275 VAC and give 15V @ 1.33A.

Here’s a search that yields three reasonably priced in stock modules that will work @ 85/90 to 275 VAC and give 15V @ 1.33A.

Thank you so much!
This is very informative.
We look forward to implementing this.
