------Question for ACS37003KMCATR-120B3 Please Put your question below------I am needing to incorporate a device into our OEM products. I am wondering if you have a simple device to monitor 120V and 10 amps of current for an under current condition of 9 amps. I would like to turn on a remote mounted LED if undercurrent is sensed.
Hi nkreigh,
Welcome to the TechForum.
The ACS37003KMCA family of parts that you bring up would certainly be a good part of a solution for such a device. However, the ACS37003KMCATR-120B3 you mention may not be the highest resolution version of that series. It senses up to ±120 A and its supply voltage is only 3.3V, so its output voltage is only 12mV per amp. That means that if the current dropped from 10A to 9A, the output voltage would drop by only 12mV.
In contrast, the ACS37003KMCATR-050B5 senses up to ±50A and takes a 5V supply, so its output voltage is 40mV per amp, a little easier to measure fine changes.
Either of these devices would require the design of a circuit board and other components to measure that output voltage and send output signals appropriately. Is this your intention, or are you trying to find a stand-alone device that both measures the current and can send a signal based on that measurement?
What sort of application is this for? Is it for a product or for use in an industrial type environment?
