Inrush Current Limiters (ICL)

This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Inrush Current Limiters category on DigiKey.com

Inrush Current Limiters (ICL) are designed to limit an initial large flow of electric charge that occurs when a device is first turned on. The Current steady state max range is from 100 mA to 80 A with the Resistance at Current ranging from 1 mOhms to 30.3 Ohms and a lead spacing range of 0.098” to 1.378”.

SelectionCharacteristics

R @ 25°C: Typical device resistance at a device temperature of 25°C.

Tolerance: The percentage by which the part’s resistance is allowed to shift from its stated value and still be considered within specification.

Current - Steady State Max: The maximum continuous current that should be allowed to pass through the device. May require de-rating based on ambient temperature.

R @ Current: Approximate device resistance at the listed maximum steady state current.

Diameter: Indicates the overall diameter of the body of the device.

Lead Spacing: The distance between the device’s leads, given in Inches (Millimeters)

Approval Agency: An indication that the product meets the minimum safety standards of an approving agency. These agencies are either government entities or private third-party labs that protect consumer safety.
