Are these two connectors interchangeable and if not why? I am not an engineer, but I want to present to the engineering team. Please help

Are you looking at the part number 17-110384 (DigiKey# 626-2121-ND)? Looks like that’s what was recommended in the previous thread you posted on this topic.
They are not identical, though depending on the usage they might be interchangeable. The reason I say this is that 626-2121-ND does not have the additional length on the back end for strain relief. I’ll put a comparison below.
On the left, you can see the original 17-110574; on the right is the 17-110384. In terms of mating, they should be the same, but the back end is different in form.
