Is Pogo Pin ED8180-ND Washable?

Dear support,
Is this pogo pin washable?
Thank you for your help!

Hello uforke,

I was unable to find anything on the washability of this pogo pin.
I have sent the question to our product specialist to check with the manufacture.
We will post the answer here, when we hear back.

A general rule guiding “washability” of components is whether or not they have features which can retain fluid and suspended contaminants from the wash process, or have exposed materials that may be damaged by contact with the wash agent.

That pogo pin has a hollow space beneath the plunger and some narrow-clearance mechanical sliding fits between the plunger and it’s shell.

It it going to be helpful if that hollow space gets filled with (water/IPA/whatever) and the flux residue and other schmoo that was suspended in it gets deposited in the space between the plunger and shell as it eventually dries? Probably not…

Note also that while component manufacturers may make recommendations as to whether or not wash processes are advisable for any given component, it is ultimately that responsibility of the user to ensure that the result of their assembly processes meets the requirements of the application.

Hello uforke,

In addition to what Rick has already gone over, we received the following information from our product specialist.
What they have found regarding Mill-Max is that parts may be able to go through a water wash process, but they have no guidelines to assist. They go over this a bit on 6 and 7 of this FAQ. You may also be able to get more information by contacting Mill-Max HERE.

Thank you Nick!
