Kester solder wire - Core size and Flux %

DigiKey is providing a wide offering of Kester sodlering wires from almost all flux seires available from this manufacture.

Many filters like Alloy composition, wire diameter/Gauge, melting point, etc, etc help the customer to choose the sodlering wire as per his needs and requirements.

However, there are some flux series like 245, 268, 275, 285, 331, 44, 88, OR421, etc that have 2 more parameters that DigiKey does not provide in its search engine, these are Core size and Flux% that have an importance for the customers in choosing the right solder wire.

Example 1:
Starting with Kester solder wire link and filtering
Flux series: 245
Alloy Composition: Sn63Pb37 (63/37)
Wire diameter: 0.040" (1.02mm) (or 18 AWG)

The search result will end up with 7 parts which have identical parameters:

So what is the difference between these 7 parts?

Example 2:
Starting with Kester solder wire link and filtering
Flux series: 285
Alloy Composition: Sn60Pb40 (60/40)
Wire diameter: 0.031" (0.79mm) (or 20 AWG)

The search result will end up with 3 parts which have identical parameters:

Again the same question: what is the difference between these 3 parts?

In both cases, the difference is the Core size and Flux% which do not appear in DigiKey search engine filters
These parameters can be found on Kester websize for each and every flux series

In example 1, for 245 series the link is here.

More parts are listed down the table

In example 2, for 285 series the link is here.
