Hello!
I am designing a pcb that uses an Arduino Nano 33 BLE SENSE and a seperate LORA module to communicate with other PCB’s with the exact same setup to make LED’s flash sequentially. I was originally planning to use the RFM95W-868S2 but I’ve had a really hard time getting ahold of it. Is there another LORA module that would work for this application? does it need to have a built in antenna or will they be able to communicate over short distances without an antenna?
Hi jcollins82,
I took a look at some possible similar ones to RFM95W-868S2 that are in stock and found some in link below:
RF Transceiver Modules and Modems | Electronic Components Distributor DigiKey
Some of those don’t come with antennas. Hope that helps.
I’ll expand on @Irfan_Koric’s list a bit as most modules support multiple frequency bands.
Clearly, there are many options available. If you’re set on the RFM95W-868S2, however, I’d recommend the 1597-1488-ND from Seeed. As stated on their website:
Make note that the 868MHz products are not legal in the US. You’ll want the 915MHz product if using in the US.
