I have a MELF resistor with Yellow, White, White, Gold markings.
This equates to a 56 Gig Ohm resistor which I think is unlikely.
Reading the opposite direction implies a 990K Ohm resistor which makes more sense but doesn’t adhere to standard markings.
I respectfully request help identifying the blown MELF resistor shown in the attached picture.
Thank you,
TechRescue
Thank you for contacting digiKey , Yellow , White , White , Gold would be 49 Gig Ohm 5% , Sorry we do not have any that value to offer .
Thanks Craig
Thank you very much for your response.
Do you think that a 49 Gig Ohm resistor is likely?
This is a small controller board in common commercial oven.
Not really; a resistance that high would be on par with the leakage one might express across the board surface, so the point of planting it at all would be questionable were that the case.
Try some different lighting and look for indications of temperature-related color changes. Tracing out the circuit to gain some idea of function may allow a person to make useful inferences.
