Molex 0533750310: What the Extra Rib Means for Your Component

If you have observed an unexpected feature - an extra rib - on the 0533750310 header connector from Molex which was not present in your original sample, here is the explanation from the manufacturer:

The manufacturer, Molex, has clarified that a Certificate of Compliance (COC) issued in 2022 confirmed the part met standard requirements and was suitable for use.

The difference is related to the mold shape: the old mold has no rib, while the new mold includes the rib.
Molex has confirmed that there is no issue with the mating condition.

The purpose of the rib is to strengthen the mold from a manufacturing perspective, particularly for longer circuits (over 4 circuits).
