Digilent offers their 471-043 USRP kit, which is based on Ettus Research’s USRP board. National Instruments also offers the same board, and lists Ettus Research as the manufacturer. What’s the deal? Why do two companies not named Ettus both offer an Ettus product, and are either of them the “real” product?
Both boards are the real product. Ettus Research is a subsidiary of National Instruments, as the datasheet for the device states. In this case, Digilent acquires the original board and sells it as part of a kit which includes an enclosure. This enclosure is the primary difference between the two products.
