This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Particle, Dust Sensors category on DigiKey.com

Products in the dust sensor family are modular devices used to measure the amount of suspended particulate matter in the ambient air. Used for health and safety applications, clean room monitoring, and similar purposes, the available devices are varied in their sensitivity characteristics, particle classification capabilities, maintenance requirements, and similar details of operation.

SelectionCharacteristics

Type: A general description of the item and function.

Output Type: Describes the format of how the device transmits the data.

Sensitivity: Indicates the nominal change in output for a given minimum particular size.

Current - DC Forward (If) (Max): This rating indicates the nominal amount of current you would expect the device to draw during normal operation.

Voltage - Supply: Typically represented by a range, this indicates the low and high voltage limits that one can expect in standard operation. Voltages outside this range may damage the device and other system components.

Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.

Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and/or other system components.

Package / Case: Describes the footprint and type of body the item has based on a general standard.
