Pcn change confirm

for part no: SML-P11MTT86R,we want to know whether factory has made any changes to this part? we bought a batch to the customer last month from our other supplier, and last week bought from your website, but it seems a little different in this two goods :the internal structure is different, customer have this question, could you pls help check and confirm? thanks

Hello Purassistant,

I checked on our website, and the manufacture’s website, for this part. I did not find any Product Change Notices, or changes, listed for this product.

Hi purassistant,

Which image came from which source?

Not that this is a guarantee that they still look this way, as datasheets are not always accurate in every way, but the 2024.7 - Rev.008 of the datasheet shows that they should look like the image below, which is consistent with the bottom image you provided.

hi david
thanks for your reply, the left side in first image is from our supplier and the right side from digikey website we bought, if datasheet have any update in year 2023 or 2024? the old version if any different?
or is it possible that caused by the difference in packaging factory or resin material
by the way, the suffix R and without R for this part, if it`s the same?

Hi purassistant,

The parts with the “R” suffix are not the same as parts without the “R” suffix. There was a design change, as mentioned in this document. It states the following:

The “R” is for the resistive paint & the circuit structure change.

We still carry both versions of the part, with and without the “R” suffix, but the non-“R” version is not recommended for new designs (NRND), as stated in the above-referenced document.

Looks like the internal structure is different with the R suffix (solder infiltrated protection products).
