Pin out on the Z version is opposite of the four others

------Question for T93Z101KT20 Please Put your question below------ The pin out of the Z version of this pot/trimmer is opposite that of the other four. Is that just a factor of the design or does the trimmer work differently regarding the loading of the unit or wiper action in use.

Hi wilsonmd,

Welcome to the TechForum.

A key thing to note, looking at the datasheet for the T93Z101KT20, is that the T93Z pins come out of the largest surface of the body rather than one of the narrower sides. This makes it take up more space on the circuit board, but gives it a lower profile than the other versions. The image we currently show on our website is incorrect.

Image of “Z” form-factor from the datasheet:

From a functional standpoint, as shown in the diagram below, clockwise rotation of the control screw pans the wiper, “b”, from “a” to “c”. So yes, relative to the “XB” and YB" form-factors, the trimmer moves in the opposite direction relative to rotation of the trimmer screw.
