Pitch of a Connector

How to get a more accurate measurement when working with small pitch values

Sometimes finding the pitch of a connector is a lot harder than it sounds. Parts keep getting smaller and smaller with the advancements in technologies. Below is a tip that might help your measurements be more accurate and easier to make.

NOTE:

Make sure you are measuring from the correct side of the contact.

A: Pitch
B: Measurement from outside edge of the first pin to the inside edge of the last pin
C: The number of pins

A: 0.5mm
B: 7.5mm
C: 16

\color{red}{A}=\frac{\color{green}{B}}{\color{blue}{C-1}}
\color{red}{A}=\frac{\color{green}{7.5 mm}}{\color{blue}{16-1}}
\color{red}{A}=\frac{\color{green}{7.5 mm}}{\color{blue}{15}}
\color{red}{A}=0.5mm
