PN: L96-M33, Quectel GNSS Module Firmware Version

I’m looking at the Quectel L96-M33 module for a product.

The datasheet is explicit that the I2C pins are only active on the modules with firmware ending in “SC”.

How do I know which firmware the DigiKey part (L96-M33) has onboard? On page 12 of the Quectel L96 GNSS Module Datasheet in the footnotes:

“I2C interface is supported only on firmware versions ended with “SC”. In other firmware versions,
I2C_SDA and I2C_SCL pins are used for RTCM data output. When I2C interface is supported, NEMA
data should be outputted via I2C interface rather than UART interface, otherwise there maybe NEMA
data loss.”

Quectel says to read the firmware revision via the UART, but that’s tough to do when you don’t have the part yet. I’d prefer to know in advance.

The manufacturer does not state which firmware version ships on the L96-M33. Unfortunately, DigiKey is unable to provide part-specific details of stock prior to shipment.

If confirming I2C support (firmware ending in “SC”) is a requirement for your application, please include that note with your order and we will attempt to accommodate it.

So you can’t provide details of what you sell prior to shipment? That implies you can provide them after you ship- can we just pretend it shipped? That doesn’t make much sense! I got the answer from Mouser, thanks for the reply.
