Pulse Transformers

This Product Selection Guide contains information to help select products in the Pulse Transformers category on DigiKey.com

Pulse Transformers are designed to transfer pulses (signals/voltage with a rapid rise time, a duration of constant signal/voltage, and then a rapid fall time) from one side of a circuit to another. The transformer types are ADSL, data/voice coupling, economical open type, gate drive, general purpose, HDBase-T, HDSL, interface, isolation and data interface, LAN, MIL-STD-1553, PoE, SCR and Triac Trigger, SHDSL, T1/E1, T3/E3, and VDSL.

SelectionCharacteristics

Transformer Type: Describes typical application or interface protocol(s) with which a device may be suitable for use.

Inductance: Characterizes the inductance of a pulse transformer’s primary winding, measured with the secondary winding unconnected or open-circuit.

ET (Volt-Time): Describes magnetic limitations of a transformer in terms of the maximum product of amplitude and duration of a rectangular pulse that can be applied to the primary winding without saturation.

Turns Ratio - Primary:Secondary: Indicates the ratio between the number of turns on a device’s primary winding and it’s secondary winding, as designated by the manufacturer.

Mounting Type: Indicates how the device is attached.

Size / Dimension: The physical dimensions of the device. Typically length X width.

Height - Seated (Max): Indicates how far the device will extend above the surface to which it has been attached.

Operating Temperature: Recommended operating temperature, typically given in a range or as a maximum. Exceeding these temperatures may affect performance or damage the device and other system components.
