Purchase of DMD (DLP serier EVMs) for laser beam binary amplitude modulation

Dear Digikey technical support

We require to purchase a DMD for laser beamshaping (532 & 488 nm) into a binary amplitude modulated image. We require a ready to use DMD which can be simply plugged to power source and computer, and then use the software GUI to load static binary images for amplitude modulation. We need the DMD board to not have attached light sources and projection lens in the output beam path. We will be using our own 532 nm laser to shine on the DMD and use our own optics in the reflected beam path for imaging into a camera. Can you help us find a suitable DMD module for our application? Also please mention the delivery timeline and cost for the product. It seems we can use the DLP6500 or DLP4500 but need your confirmation that it does not have illumination LED and projection lens and just the bare DMD chip with attached control.

I find (a) DLP4500 & DLPC350 combination as well as (b) DLP6500FYE + DLPC900 combination (without LED & projector optics) as suitable for our laboratory research.

Please confirm which model suits best our needs and reply me the current pricing of both the sets including all the power supply accessories at your earliest.

Sincerely
Aneek

Hello abiswas4,

Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum.

The DLPLCR6500EVM would not have the illumination or projector lens, but this part number is obsolete. The DLPLCR4500EVM would have the illumination and the projector lens attached.

Some options I found that may work for you, are: DLPLCR65FLQEVM, DLPLCR65EVM, DLPLCF67EVM, DLPLCR65NEVM.

Please check the datasheet to verify compatibility to your application.

Price and lead time can be found on these webpages, or by checking with our sales department at orders@digikey.com

Maybe one of the Engineers that monitor the TechForum, can add to this post with their suggestions.

Hi David,

Thanks for the information. Can you please guide me what are the bare-minimum hardware set I will need to use the DMD for Laser binary modulation that directly connects to the PC? I am confused on what all are actually required to make it plug and play use.

I am to buy 2 sets as early as possible.

An example set I found looks to be the below.
