Replacement for FSP220-50FEB

Hello, I have an older door access system (server) that needs a replacement for the installed power supply.
The part number is FSP220-50FEB. It seems that this is no longer available and I would like help in suggesting a replacement.
I have seen the FSP220-50FGBBI is available, would this be the newer model to be used as a replacement for the FSB220-50FEB?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Hi robothouse,

Welcome to the TechForum.

It looks like the FSP220-50FGBBI has similar electrical specs, but the connector system is different. The documentation I have found for the FSP220-50FEB is a little lacking, but it appears that it has a large number of wires coming out with various connectors attached. I can’t find any info on those connectors.

Unlike the FSP220-50FEB, the FSP220-50FGBBI appears to have a bunch of connectors on the unit rather than wires coming out. For the FSP220-50FGBBI, one would have to have separate cable harnesses with connectors on each end - on end of each cable to plug into the power supply, and the other to connect to your external boards and devices. If you had the proper separate cable harnesses, it might work for you, but if not, then it won’t.

Looking at what we carry, the FSP300-50FRB would seem to be the most similar unit, but we are currently out of stock on that item. The FSP400-50FDB is a higher power version which is in stock at the moment. Unfortunately, because I cannot see any info on the connectors for the FSP220-50FEB, I cannot say with certainty that the FSP400-50FDB has identical connectors, but I suspect it does, as it is also described as an ATX FLEX type supply.

The FSP400-50FDB has an identical form-factor, so that part is assured. I would suggest you take a look at the datasheet for the FSP400-50FDB and verify that the connectors shown there match the connectors of your FSP220-50FEB.
