Hello,
I’m new to the electronics industry, and I’ve been asked to try an find a JANTX or JANTXV version of 1N5711 - Microchip (497-2499-1-ND.) Can I get help locating this?
Are these parts already screened? How do I determine the level of screening for parts in the future? Is it always baked into the P/N (prefix, suffix)?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to the DigiKey TechForum. Take a look at DigiKey part 1086-15175-ND as the JANTX version from Microchip. Here is a good post that may help in the future which gives reference on how to search JANTX components in our system.
Hi Tidballer,
To answer some of your questions:
-
Yes, the JANxxx prefix (Joint Army Navy xxx) is “baked into” the part number of MIL-PRF-19500 semiconductor devices, and thus can be searched with the appropriate prefix.
-
Yes, these parts are screened by their respective manufacturer.
-
The level and methodologies of screening is defined by the specific JANxxx prefix.
This NASA MILSPEC Training document compares the various levels for JANxxx screenings and methodologies of the MIL-PRF-19500 specifications starting on page 8.
Here is a much more exhaustive and technical document from the Defense Logistics Agency covering the MIL-PRF-19500 spec, which defines the JANxxx screening standards.
