Seeking help on wiring (E-Switch RP308) push button

How’s it going. I’m replacing the power switch on my bench grinder and I’m hung up on wiring the new replacement switch I purchased. Part#: (RP3508BBLKREDREDNS) illuminated SPST On-Off 4 Terminal. The original switch I’m replacing was an illuminated 3 terminal, I would like the new switch to illuminate when switched on. Thank you to everyone in advance for the assistance!

Hello @kford118

The LED voltage is 1.8VDC and I assume your bench grinder is 120VAC. This would mean it is not suitable to run the LED directly off of the same power.

You could consider using for instance a Solid State Relay that is controlled by the 120VAC to switch a low voltage DC circuit to control the LED.

It may be best to also consider a different push button with a light that runs off of 120VAC. My initial search did not locate such a switch in stock. (Click Here) Unless you are able to accept different hole cutout sizes. With more options to consider (Click Here) when looking at different sizes.

Troy, Thank you for pointing that out for me. I found an illuminated toggle switch by Carling Tech LT-1511-610-120. It offers a 125v neon and 3 terminals.
