Looking for a sensor that can trigger a camera when it sees the intensity of an aurora display increase

This would not be the sort of item that we would have on hand as a finished product. We do stock quite a few photodiodes however, and it may be possible to use a device such as the PD70-01C/TR10 to build the sort of function you desire. Providing complete instructions on doing so is beyond the scope of services we can provide, but the basic idea would be to amplify the signal from the photodiode and apply it to some device capable of interpreting it according to your desires and generating a signal suitable for your camera’s trigger input. It’s possible that an op amp, a comparator, and an optoisolator could do the trick, or something more complex might be called for if more advanced behavior is desired.
