SierraWireless RV50 vs RV55

Hi,

I’m looking for some product information and comparison between the various RV50 and RV55 models available. My customer is looking for SMS notification capability to be added to a SCADA system we’re building. The customer is located within North America.

I’m tempted to go with the LTE A Pro version of the RV55, just to ensure maximum compatibility with different networks (customer hasn’t chosen a cell plan yet). Any feedback would be appreciated.

Comparing the two models, it appears that the RV55 has more Modulation/Protocol options.
Looking at the datasheets, both can do SMS, but the RV55 is the only one that mentions it is ideal for industrial applications connecting via Ethernet or Serial, such as SCADA and distribution management.
