We’ve had some inquiries come in about what types of drives SM2NGFFMBU33 and similar products from Startech are compatible with. It seems that folks will occasionally see what appears to be an incomplete list of options and be unable to confirm whether their specific Drive (M.2 NVME, M.2 SATA, PCIe, etc) will work.
As a general rule of thumb these are only compatible with drive types explicitly listed on the product display page in the For use with/Related Products row in the attributes table.
However if there is any doubt, the entry is blank, or you just need to double check, Startech will have explicitly stated warnings for which drive types are not compatible. For example, we can check SM2NGFFMBU33 to verify that it’s compatible with M.2 SATA only, by searching Startech’s website: M.2 SSD Enclosure for M.2 SATA SSDs - USB 3.0 (5Gbps) with UASP - TAA
