Hi,
SML-012YTT86A represents what exactly, and un-binned base P/N? And what of the suffixes AQ, AR, AS, AT, AU, AV. They don’t seem orderable. Is that simply what is delivered? Bin is consistent in that lot?
Thanks, Rob

Hello Rob,
Welcome to DigiKey’s TechForum,
Binning would be consistent with their full reels however what luminous intensity rank the manufacturer sends us can be random from what ever they have in stock.
DigiKey is unable to provide part specific details of stock prior to shipment. If there are any special requirements for your order, please include them into the order notes and DigiKey will attempt to accommodate.
To state the matter differently, the orderable part number can include any of the enumerated luminosity bins, which should be consistent and marked for any given reel of parts.
Production variability along dimensions of luminosity, forward voltage, chromaticity, etc. are unavoidable. The practice of binning and labeling is an effort to help users cope with those variations, but the burden of doing so ultimately falls to the user.
Nobody likes a burden, so the question of “can I order a specific bin?” comes up regularly, and the answer is generally “No,” because people also don’t want to pay the costs that would be necessary to support the logistics and waste that are are inevitable when one’s preferences are more specific than the production spreads can support.
Thanks Troy!
