Speaker IP rating

According to product attributes the following speaker from PUI AS05308AS-R is IP65 with
IEC 60601-1-8.
It’s not mentioned in the datasheet and I can’t find the certifications, can you assist?

Welcome to Digi-Key’s TechForum. The datasheet does not call out the IEC 60601-1-8, but if you scroll down on the page past the product attributes, it give some other documents and media. In that area you can find a MFG Application Notes and that lists that part as being IEC 60601-1-8. I have also linked that document below. The datasheet also does not call out IP65, but it does state that it is water and dust resistant, which is where the IP65 comes from.

Hi Brock,

I needed a formal approval for the IP65 ratings, PUI Audio advised that it has water and dust protection but no formal IP65 test was done so it is not an approved IP65 speaker, I recommend to remove the statement from the parts attributes in the website because it’s not correct,
