Substitute IC for HFC3845BE

Any suggestions for a substitute IC to replace HFC3845 BE?

wescannon1, Welcome to the Technical Forum.!
I can not find this IC HFC3845BE.
Could it be this IC HCF4538BEY?

Hi Adam7,
The chip is ST Malaysia, clearly marked HCF3845BE. So I must have typed HCF as HFC.

Unfortunately, there is no information about this chip. What function does the chip perform? What board is it installed on? Do you have a photo HCF3845BE?

Hi Adam,
Here is a photo of the device I’m making. It is a signaling device for an electric fencing foil. The fencing foil uses a closed circuit and sends a signal to the device to score a touch via open circuit.
Components include 472 & 104 caps, 4.7 µf 35v cap, 4 resistors (2, 270K 1 560K, 1 4.7K) C33725 transistor, 5mm red LED, 12 v buzzer, 12v battery holder, IN4148 diode and the HCF3845BE.
The reason I needed to know an alternative IC, is the HFC is hard to find. The original device is close to 15 years old - I had 2 and one stopped working, and I want to make 6 more - they are useful training devices.
Hope this helps

Hello,
Thanks for the information. Looks like your chip is DigiKey part 497-1378-5-ND which is obsolete. Take a look at DigiKey part 296-14074-5-ND as a possible alternate, hope this one works for you.

Yes,
this IC is dual, precision, retriggerable monostable multivibrator.

Thank you Steve
