Suitable Replacement

Good afternoon!

I am trying to find a suitable replacement for a Towin LED Driver model DF100W-40C2450B. I have not been able to find anything related to this model. I did however, find the MeanWell HLG-100H-42B and was wondering if you would recommend this as a replacement? The biggest difference that I see between these two are that the MeanWell driver has three wires coming out of the Input side as opposed to just two on the Towin model. I’m not sure if that make a major differece or not. Please, any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

@rudy1

I am sorry to say that without detail on the original it would be difficult to be able to provide a positive or negative response to the comparison of these.

Would you be able to indicate the known specifications of the original driver?
As well as an image?

My apologies, I meant to include a picture. I hope this helps.

In doing more research I’m wondering if MeanWell HLG-100H-48B would be a better suited replacement. This seems to be closer in specs. Thoughts?

@rudy1

It would work. The main difference is that this one will underdrive the light by 0.45A If you are okay with it be a bit dimmer then it would be fine.

Unfortunately it can’t be dimmer so I guess HLG-100H-48B is out of the question.

Alright, I have come across MeanWell ELG-150-48B, the wattage and amperage is more than what is needed, but that shouldn’t be a problem… From what I’ve read

Hi Rudy1,

Please consider part number 1866-3562-ND

Description:
Input 90-305VAC
Output 28.8 ~ 48V current 2.5A
Dimmable Analog, PWM
Datasheet https://www.meanwellusa.com/upload/pdf/NPF-120D/NPF-120D-spec.pdf

Photo you provided for the original for comparison:
P/N DF100W-40C2450B
Input 100-277VAC
Output 28-40V current 2.45A
Dimmable Analog 0-10v, PWM and Variable Resistor

Thank you so much, this one makes more sense to me since the characteristics are more similar. Much appreciated!
