Texas Instruments manufactures a vast array of semiconductor products, including their TMUX1219DBVR FET switch. We’ve had some concerns recently with products from this line arriving with the marking ‘3GUT’ rather than the ‘26IT’ marking the datasheet tells one to expect. Are these 3GUT products misshipped, or manufacturer error?
Neither. ‘3GUT’ is the marking for the automotive-grade version of this product. This automotive grade part is a drop-in upgrade for TMUX1219DBVR, and so occasionally Texas Instruments will make up excess orders of the downgraded product with a shipment of its upgrade. These 3GUT parts are perfectly usable anywhere TMUX1219DBVR would work, and can be considered a lucky bonus from TI.
