Attic fan with failed thermal fuse - no markings. 120 v, 3.4 amp motor. Local motor shop suggested an Aupo A4-3A-F, which is a 3 amp, 250 v, 130°C thermal fuse. I’ve noticed the shops recommended fuse is rated for 3 amps, but the motor is rated at 3.4 amps. Suggestions/wisdoms?
Welcome to the forum.
I’d try the part that was suggested because it’s quite possible that in this particular application the motor never draws its maximum current.
If the thermal fuse opens again I’d find a 3.5A or 4A, 250 v, 130°C thermal fuse to try next.
