Tray / Cardboard packaging - ESD safe?

I have been pointed in the direction of the DigiKey forum.

I placed an order on DigiKey for 20pcs for an XP power part which came in trays, but were then topped with cardboard. Need to understand if the cardboard is ESD safe?

I was not positive on this request, so I have emailed our ESD technical to see about the cardboard. When we get this information and will post it as soon as possible.

The DigiKey label would indicate if the parts are ESD sensitive.

From this post on the DigiKey label, it shows where the indication would be for ESD.

As the parts are not ESD, they will not be packaged as ESD. This means that the plastic and cardboard should not be deemed to be ESD cardboard.

Hi, thanks for replying here. I have spoken to our quality team who have advised

The mfr is XP power of these components and seems like these components are esd safe according to mfr data sheet which aligns with EN61000-4-2 standard.
It can be damaged by electrostatic discharge during handling.

Datasheet is attached, so would these be suitable to use?

EN61000-4-2 applies to the part in circuit and the tests are done in this manner. It does not test or evaluate for ESD in packaging, storage, or transportation situations.
